We have taken the 2021 David Bellamy ‘Blooming Marvellous’ Pledge!
We pledge to:

• Improve our existing habitats for wildlife.

• Create new wildlife habitats and features where possible.

• Manage our greenspace in as environmentally friendly way as possible.

• Involve everyone in wildlife conservation.

• Engage with local conservation bodies and projects.

As part of this we need to include records / photos / descriptions of what we have done / what we have planned to do... 
And this is where all you lovely people come in.

No names, no pack drill - you all know the reasons why this year the park opening was delayed until April 12th - but who, in their wildest imaginings could have predicted we would have been greeting you in a snowy Herefordshire?
Still, it was a beautiful sight - one for the scrapbooks. All gone by tea time and back to normal!

At Pearl Lake the fantastically practical and visually superb jetty is now in place and open for use.
It is more a pontoon - a floating deck if you will - that offers practicality with the least environmental impact on the lake. Be aware that you will feel it move as you walk upon it.

Please take care whilst on the jetty
Remember, a lake can be a dangerous place 
Please do not let children or pets play on the jetty
Enjoy the jetty but please respect it
Please do not swim or play in the lake
Sorry, no fishing from the jetty
Keep off when there is ice or frost
Life jackets/buoyancy aids should

I just want to say a huge thank you for the continued support over the summer. 
We have had a great time with the Golf competitions, bowls match and not forgetting the beer and gin boxes over the Bank Holiday. I also want to say a huge thank you to Tony & Jackie Ward for helping to organise the Golf Days and to Rachel Wild for helping to organise the August Bank Holiday Bowls Match.
We have had a fantastic turn-out and its been great to meet some new faces.

How does one express heartfelt thanks of such magnitude?
We want to say the biggest thank you to all of you for being there, for understanding, for supporting us, for rallying round, for your patience and kindness, but most of all for standing by us and helping us to believe that there is a silver lining to the cloud cast over 2020 and that together we can reach out and bathe in the light once again.

Thank you for everything and for proving that, without you, life at Discover Parks wouldn’t feel quite so right.

April has been good to one of our holiday home owners.

Putting his water craft and experience to good use, Dave landed this beautiful 18lb 4oz Carp at Pearl Lake. The lake can be very rewarding if you have the patience to study the swims. This is not a match lake, this is a beautiful natural body of water that is as much for wildlife lovers as it is for fishermen.

It might just be me (probably is) but I think the maintenance team secretly name their machines after action films or Super Heroes: like Rocky, Conan etc.

So I stake a claim to the name of the new mower;  Allow me to introduce Driving Miss Daisy!

I don’t know where they find the time to get it all done. The parks have been very busy while you have been away, so there will be lots to see now that you are back:

• A complete refurb’ of the Lakeside function room at Pearl Lake: New fixtures and fittings, tables, chairs and curtains.

• New sound & PA system for live acts and speakers

• High-tec sound system for ‘movie nights’

• Massive 4m square projector screen

• HD Sony projector

• Maybe Craig will make popcorn, too?

• Additions to the decking and flagstones at Lakeside (PL)

• Feature wall to Park Pool (PL) with

We love having a dog friendly park. You don’t have to leave anyone behind when you come to stay and, as we all know, there are plenty of places to exercise the dogs and let them off the lead. We also know it’s nice to drop in at the bar on the way back home for a quick half or a bite to eat.
If your dog is nicely behaved and good on the lead indoors, if they don’t jump on the furniture and disturb the other patrons, then we are happy to let them in the bar and function room - as long as you accompany them!

Yup, he’s been busy in the kitchen again. Behind the doors you can hear pans clattering and words that should never be uttered in public. The door bursts open in a cloud of steam and aromas and, when it clears, standing there is Craig. Drained of emotion; bereft of strength; completely spent. Yet, he has new creations to show for his endeavours. The turmoil has gone, the artist is sated, the creator happy to display the fruits of his labour.
A new menu is born, a few dishes of which are here to whet your appetite.
