Country Holiday Park with Private Golf Course

Hole 3 - Holiday Park Golf course

A holiday park with its own private golf course is a rare find, and so we know that one of the reasons people choose to own a Holiday Home at Pearl Lake Country Holiday Park is our golf course.
A private golf course on the doorstep of your lodge or caravan is a luxury many golfers dream of.

The Golf Course at Pearl Lake Holiday Park

A 9-hole golf course with par 3 and par 4 located in the heart of the holiday park. The course is varied with challenges for both beginners and the more experienced golfer.

Use of the golf course is free for holiday homeowners at Pearl Lake and self-catering guests staying in our holiday cottages or lodges for hire. For our touring customers and guests staying at other Discover Parks, day-rate green fees of £8 are applicable.

A Brief History of the Golf Course

The Golf Course was built by the previous park owners Mr and Mrs Stirling, who owned the holiday park between 1968 and 1998, establishing a golf course and tennis courts (now bowling green) in 1972.

The Stirlings sold the holiday park to the Jones family in 1998, and since that time a continuous programme of improvements has been implemented to ensure that the golf course is a pleasure to play.

In 2019 owners,  Glenn & Hannah, purchased an adjoining field and this provided the opportunity to develop the golf course further. Still remaining a challenging 9-hole golf course the newly opened area for the 2023 season now gives breath-taking vistas over the Shobdon hills and the Mortimer Trail.

Top Golfing tips from some of our Holiday Home Owners

The Holiday Park has very active Golf Societies for Men & ladies.

We asked some of the golf society members to offer their top tips for the Holiday Park Golf Course and other local golf courses in Herefordshire.

What do you love about the newly developed golf course at Pearl Lake Holiday Park?
The new course has been developed to accommodate golfers of all levels and the par 3's are ideal for beginners, but we also love the more challenging longer fairways with par 4s for the more experienced golfers.  The greens whilst in early development are great.  The course makes the most of the beautiful scenery that surrounds Pearl Lake Holiday Park.  The elevated tees and shorter fairways are appreciated by some of the ladies.

Which is your favourite hole to play on the golf course?
It has to be the 4th with its elevated position and is certainly our new signature hole.

Do you have any tips and advice for someone playing the holiday park golf course for the first time?
Enjoy it.  Make the most of late mornings and early afternoons when the course is quiet – millionaires golf!!  Pearl Lake Golf men & ladies golf societies hold many Texas Scramble events when you play as a team and they are ideal for the new, less experienced golfer and it’s a great way of making new friends.

And tips for complete novices?
Check our golf society notice boards at Pearl Lake Holiday Park as there is often someone with extra clubs they are happy to lend. We also advertise second hand equipment here.
